Okay guys, it's about that time again! The crackers are getting stale and the cheese is getting a bit moldy and it's time to break out of the box and do something completely new!
Dun, dun, dun!
The other day I started experimenting with my photos and had the coolest breakthrough! I was toying around with the idea of creating kaleidoscopes from photography but wanted to do it on a much simpler scale so that they weren't just perfectly symmetrical pieces and so you could still see aspects of the original photos. I wanted them to be just the right blend of recognizable and unrecognizable, creating cool colors and shapes and designs that in some cases became sort of optical illusions.
Well I was having so much fun I went absolutely crazy. I spend a lot of time on my computer as it is - but for three days straight I was glued to the screen. I didn't even want to stop to eat, and that's saying a lot! I created almost 200 of these geometrics from my photos (some were pieces that I had saved but never ended up using for anything because they didn't make the cut, but ended up being perfect for this type of creation.) Finally I narrowed it down to a scant (giggle) 125 designs. Seriously though... I absolutely LOVE how these turned out!!
I know this is a lot all at once but I think you can handle it. ;) I've even numbered them for easy reference. Sure I could have split them up into several blog posts, but why drag it out when you can have chocolate cake, ice cream, hot fudge, caramel, whipped cream, and nuts all at once? I thought you'd agree. Don't worry, if you're like me (still wanting more) I'm sure I'll be creating a lot more of these!!! They are my new favorite thing.
What I like most about them is that they are easy to get lost in, trying to figure out what the original photo looked like. Some of them are easy, others will completely fool you. Okay now I want chocolate cake.
