san diego sunset

Today was the most enjoyable day.  I spent some time taking photos around the garden (will post those later) and then Joan and I went down to the beach at sunset.  There were hundreds of seagulls and enough people to chase them so that there seemed to be a constant flurry of wings in the air.  Joan made sculptures and drawings in the sand while I took pictures of everything in sight and then we walked until it was so dark we couldn't see a thing.  Then we finally turned around.

I just couldn't get enough of the beauty around me.  There is nothing more peaceful than cool, salty air and the vast expanse of ocean stretching out into infinity.  It's moments like these where I feel not just connected, but like I become one with the whole universe.  I think I must have been made to travel, because nothing feeds my soul like being surrounded by beauty.

I have a dream to pack up my car and go on a year-long road trip around the entire United States, taking pictures and writing about my adventures.  One of these days, it's going to become a reality.  :)
